  • FLOWER SHOP AT WEST ELM

On May 27th, the Tin Can Studios team will be setting up a flower shop for the day at West Elm Dumbo where we will sell various sized flower arrangements and plants. Get yourself a pre-made bouquet or choose a vase and style and we will make an arrangement custom for you while we teach you basic flower arranging techniques.

For those interested in learning more about approachable ways to arrange flowers, I will also be selling and signing my book "Handpicked".

In addition, we will be selling flowers by the stem and vases (+ chicken wire or tape) to those who want to try making their own arrangement based on a recipe from the book.

Hope to see you at West Elm then! / Ingrid

P.S. All proceeds will go to Arbor Day Foundation

  • MY NEW BOOK HANDPICKED!

I'm so excited that it almost feels like my heart might almost stop at times. On March 14 my new book Handpicked, Seasonal Flowers, (Abrams Books) launches in the U.S! The book is full of inspiration, ideas and recipes for arrangements that flower lovers of all levels can do at home. It’s our signature style, just a little easier to put together and with fewer ingredients.

If you pre-order now, you will receive a pretty canvas bag with an image of my favorite flowers (from the book). Here is the link!

  • WYTHE HOTEL WEDDING

When Caitlin called me to ask if I was available to do her wedding at The Wythe Hotel, I knew very quickly that she was no ordinary bride… and I'm talking about 'not ordinary' in the extremely great kind of way 'not ordinary'.

To get to work with creative people with a vision is a real treat in my opinion, and one of the reasons why I love what I do so much. Caitlin had so many amazing ideas and I always felt like we were on the same page. Needless to say, we had so much fun in the process and planning of this wedding and while I'm sad it's all over, I also feel very lucky to now have some new friends in Caitlin, her husband Michael, and her mother Mimi.

This one will always be extra special and memorable to me…

Enjoy the pictures below taken by the extremely talented Leila Brewster, I couldn't help but post a million of them…

  • FLOWERS MAKE MOMS HAPPY…

…it's universal. And that is why me and my good friend Odette Williams put together this simple flower arrangement DIY using potted daisies for you all.

I have some pictures here below, but Odette wrote down my tips and verbalized them in a much better way than I ever would so I suggest heading over to her blog to get the instructions.

Did I mention she is giving a way one of her beautiful aprons on her Instagram if you hurry over there now?

  • PRINCESS MADELEINE OF SWEDEN

I was recently given the honor to create another hand-bouquet for Princess Madeleine of Sweden. As a Swede, I was extremely proud to once again get to create something for the princess and glowing mom-to-be. The previous year we made a bouquet for her, as well as her mother Queen Silvia, so naturally we were delighted to be asked again. The event was a gala dinner, hosted and organized by The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce, and was a smashing success.
