  • NOW HIRING INTERNS

We have lots of events coming up, apply now for various dates!
Our ideal candidate has a strong interest, and some basic knowledge, in floral design. Responsibilities will include conditioning flowers, keeping the studio organized, purchasing materials, and assisting in making arrangements (mainly for events).

In addition, we build and customize many of our vases/containers and other types of decor, so if you possess other hand skills (are not afraid to paint, sew, use a nail gun, a chop saw, etc) that would be a great plus. Basically, we would love to work with someone who can multi-task, is interested in learning new things, and who enjoys rolling up his/her sleeves when necessary.
Details: Internship, flexible schedule/ freelance in a creative and fast-paced environment. For interns with basic knowledge in floral design we offer a small day rate. Also, please note that our studio is in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
Please forward pictures of your work together with your resume to Ingrid@TinCanStudiosBK.com if your skills meet the requirements above.
Feel free to forward this to anyone you think might be interested!
  • WYTHE HOTEL WEDDING

When Caitlin called me to ask if I was available to do her wedding at The Wythe Hotel, I knew very quickly that she was no ordinary bride… and I'm talking about 'not ordinary' in the extremely great kind of way 'not ordinary'.

To get to work with creative people with a vision is a real treat in my opinion, and one of the reasons why I love what I do so much. Caitlin had so many amazing ideas and I always felt like we were on the same page. Needless to say, we had so much fun in the process and planning of this wedding and while I'm sad it's all over, I also feel very lucky to now have some new friends in Caitlin, her husband Michael, and her mother Mimi.

This one will always be extra special and memorable to me…

Enjoy the pictures below taken by the extremely talented Leila Brewster, I couldn't help but post a million of them…

  • MIDSUMMER CROWN FOR VOGUE

As a swede, Swedish midsummer is a celebration that is very close to my heart. Growing up with a mother who always made sure we celebrated things in a traditional way, regardless of where we were living at the time, this holiday brings a lot of sentiment to me. So when Laird Borelli-Persson at Vogue contacted me to see if I could tie a floral crown for Swedish model Frida B Gustavsson and take some pictures of the process for Vogue it was a huge honor for me. And Frida looked so perfect in the crown which you can see here! Below are some of the pictures…hope you like them!

  • WE WERE ON DESIGN*SPONGE!

The wonderful Grace Bonney of Design*Sponge recently asked if she could feature a day in my life on her beautiful blog. I have been following her work for almost a decade now and always admired the designs she features so naturally I was super excited! Below are some of the photos we took, but you can also check out the entire feature with more pictures here

  • FLOWERS MAKE MOMS HAPPY…

…it's universal. And that is why me and my good friend Odette Williams put together this simple flower arrangement DIY using potted daisies for you all.

I have some pictures here below, but Odette wrote down my tips and verbalized them in a much better way than I ever would so I suggest heading over to her blog to get the instructions.

Did I mention she is giving a way one of her beautiful aprons on her Instagram if you hurry over there now?
