  • WYTHE HOTEL WEDDING

When Caitlin called me to ask if I was available to do her wedding at The Wythe Hotel, I knew very quickly that she was no ordinary bride… and I'm talking about 'not ordinary' in the extremely great kind of way 'not ordinary'.

To get to work with creative people with a vision is a real treat in my opinion, and one of the reasons why I love what I do so much. Caitlin had so many amazing ideas and I always felt like we were on the same page. Needless to say, we had so much fun in the process and planning of this wedding and while I'm sad it's all over, I also feel very lucky to now have some new friends in Caitlin, her husband Michael, and her mother Mimi.

This one will always be extra special and memorable to me…

Enjoy the pictures below taken by the extremely talented Leila Brewster, I couldn't help but post a million of them…

  • MIDSUMMER CROWN FOR VOGUE

As a swede, Swedish midsummer is a celebration that is very close to my heart. Growing up with a mother who always made sure we celebrated things in a traditional way, regardless of where we were living at the time, this holiday brings a lot of sentiment to me. So when Laird Borelli-Persson at Vogue contacted me to see if I could tie a floral crown for Swedish model Frida B Gustavsson and take some pictures of the process for Vogue it was a huge honor for me. And Frida looked so perfect in the crown which you can see here! Below are some of the pictures…hope you like them!

  • FLOWERS MAKE MOMS HAPPY…

…it's universal. And that is why me and my good friend Odette Williams put together this simple flower arrangement DIY using potted daisies for you all.

I have some pictures here below, but Odette wrote down my tips and verbalized them in a much better way than I ever would so I suggest heading over to her blog to get the instructions.

Did I mention she is giving a way one of her beautiful aprons on her Instagram if you hurry over there now?

  • A LAST MINUTE REQUEST

Vicinity allows for spontaneity, and that is one of the many reasons why we love working with local event planners, venues, and restaurants in Brooklyn.

So was the case the other day when I was biking back from the flower district when my client and friend, Emelie Kihlström, one of the owners at Colonie, sent me a text message to ask for a last minute addition to the flowers she had ordered for that night. She was wondering if we could include some ingredients her chef had in the kitchen in the arrangements. Sure, I said, I'll be there in one minute! And I meant one minute literally.

Shortly after, the arrangements had the wonderful addition of some very pretty mustard flowers (they really added a special touch!) and were sent off to the event: Taste of the Nation - No Kid Hungry, a charity event  that aims to end childhood hunger in America.

Mustard flowers, tree peonies, honeysuckle, ranunculus, roses and tulips in recycled tin for the special event.

And if you haven't been to Colonie yet, you must go! Their food is simply amazing, the interior is beautiful, and they support the New York community by using as many local purveyors and vendors as possible.

In addition, they have a super cool vertical garden, check it out below! Would be nice to have one of our own in the studio someday, we are working on it… more about that another time…

  • WE HEART GRINDHAUS

When one of our favorite restaurants in Red Hook asked us to make something exciting for a Valentines Day event and then mentioned that they had a bunch of vintage meat grinders lying around we could not contain our happiness. Could we use them as vases, we asked. Yes, they replied. You are telling us you are ok with us putting flowers in your appliances…? Yes. Well, now we really love you Grindhaus
